Spain is home to more vineyard acreage than any country on earth, yet its wines remain some of the most underexplored by American drinkers. In this class, we’ll journey through Spain’s major regions  while tasting 10 wines — from the age-worthy Tempranillo of Rioja and Ribera del Duero to the fresh, saline whites of Rías Baixas — while touching on the country’s distinctive aging classifications (Crianza, Reserva, Gran Reserva) and its resurgence of native grape varieties. You’ll come away with a broader map of Spanish wine and a handful of new favorites to seek out.

The tasting lineup will be announced closer to the event, once final selections are confirmed.

This class will be held in person at the Capital Wine School. Please note that the building in which we are located does not have an elevator, and there are several sets of stairs to navigate to get to our classrooms on the second floor.

To ensure a quality experience for all participants, each class or course requires a minimum number of registrations. If this minimum is not met, we may need to cancel the session. In such cases, registered students will be notified as soon as possible and provided with options for rescheduling or a full refund.

By purchasing your ticket(s), you agree to our payment, refund, cancellation, and reschedule policy.
