Piemonte is a region defined by contrasts — the commanding tannins of Nebbiolo alongside the everyday charm of Barbera and Dolcetto, the fog-draped hills of Barolo and Barbaresco alongside the sparkling exuberance of Moscato d’Asti. In this class, we’ll taste through ten wines that capture Piemonte’s range, exploring how the Nebbiolo grape expresses itself differently across Barolo’s communes, why Barbaresco often plays elegant counterpoint to Barolo’s power, and how the region’s lesser-known grapes and appellations round out its identity. You’ll leave with a clear map of Piemonte’s key styles and a deeper appreciation for one of Italy’s most storied wine regions.
The tasting lineup will be announced closer to the event, once final selections are confirmed.
This class will be held in person at the Capital Wine School. Please note that the building in which we are located does not have an elevator, and there are several sets of stairs to navigate to get to our classrooms on the second floor.
