Champagne Survey for Valentines Day with Michael Franz

Everybody knows that France’s Champagne region produces the world’s greatest sparkling wines, but only a fortunate few have enjoyed the opportunity to directly compare Champagne’s different types and styles of wine in a single sitting.

This tasting class will consider renditions from Grandes Marques, smaller houses, and single-side growers.  We’ll also compare Blanc de Blancs wines with blended Champagnes and Rosés, and consider variations in sweetness levels, including no dosage, low dosage, Brut and Demi-Sec wines.  Although 90% of Champagne’s production is non-vintage Brut, the region actually makes a wine for every palate and occasion—as we will experience.
