This class sells out more quickly for me than any other all year, probably because the wines are overflowing with flavor and fun—right at the point in the year when we need them most.  The wines are different every year, and in 2022 I’ll be emphasizing wines that remain stylish and food-friendly despite their sheer size and flavor impact.  To be frank, any idiot can bowl us over with a Zinfandel that weighs in at 17% alcohol, but artistry is required to make wines that can pack a punch but still dance.  Muhammad Ali wines, if you will.  The cleverest winemakers around the world can craft them from a variety of grape varieties and blends, providing all the richness you’d want for slow-braised lamb shanks or the heartiest winter stews but still show enough edge to create pairing combinations with definition and “cut.”  If this sounds appealing, you prepare the food and I’ll kick in a dozen wines you won’t soon forget.

Wine samples available for pickup by appointment on Friday, February 18 between 12pm – 5pm.
