2-day course plus exam, $1,250


 

This 2-day course will be held at Capital Wine School on August 17 & 18, 2019. On August 17 class will run from 9am – 5pm; on August 18 class will run from 9am – 3pm, with the exam from 4pm – 5:30pm.
Students can elect to take the exam at a later date, but you must email us to request this when registering.

This unit focuses on viticulture, vinification, maturation, and bottling. You will learn what the vine requires to produce grapes for wine production, grape growing, winemaking, and post-fermentation options and how this influences style, quality, and price. This unit must be taken before attempting any other Diploma course. This course provides the foundation needed for taking D3, D4, and D5. This unit is assessed by a 90-minute multiple-part open-response exam.

You must have passed the WSET Level 3 exam before registering for the Diploma Program.

The course fee includes WSET’s 3 year registration fee; the two-day intensive course, and the Unit D1 Examination at Capital Wine School.

Registration deadline for students wishing to take the exam on August 18 at the end of the course is August 1, 2019, and there are no cancellations or rescheduling after August 1.

Students who register for this course after August 1 will be scheduled to take the exam on September 24 at 6:30pm.

All Diploma study materials are online in the WSET Global Campus Online Classroom. Students will receive an email directly from the WSET approximately one week after registering for this course with instructions on how to log in and access the materials.
