$395 – Includes sake samples for tasting, instruction by Caroline Hermann MW, the final exam, and a digital certificate and badge for those who pass the exam.
The Capital Wine School is offering an in-person WSET Level 1 Award in Sake course on April 5 from 10:00am – 4:15pm
Please note that the building in which we are located does not have an elevator, and there are several sets of stairs to navigate to get to our classrooms on the second floor.
This is the perfect starting point for the novice sake enthusiast, or those working with sake. You will explore the main styles and types of sake through sight, smell and taste to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavors and aromas, and will learn about the processes and principles involved in the production, storage, and service of sake. Also included in the course is a printed WSET Level 1 Sake workbook, and the in-person exam at the end of class (30 multiple choice questions in 45 minutes). Students who pass the exam will be awarded the WSET Level 1 Award in Sake.
Caroline Hermann MW, WSET Certified Sake Educator (2018), Advanced Sake Professional (2020), Diploma in Sake from the Japan Sommelier Association (2020)
