WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines: Unit D5 Fortified Wine Online & Live (wine samples included)

This course will be taught by a Capital Wine School instructor via Zoom or Cisco WebEx on September 22, 29, October 6, 13 from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. There will be a practice exam and debrief on October 16 from 1:30pm – 3:30pm. The exam is October 27 at 3:30pm. The exam is included in the registration fee.

***Students who wish to take the exam on October 27 will need to register for this course on or before August 22, 2021, and any requests for rescheduling of the exam after August 22 will incur a new exam fee of $295.

Students who register on or after August 23 will be automatically registered to take the exam January 19, 2022 during the next scheduled WSET Diploma exams.

This course covers tasting technique, Port, Sherry, Madeira, fortified Grenache and Muscat, and other fortified wines of the world. Students will gain an understanding of how grape growing, winemaking, maturation, wine law and wine business influences the style, quality and price of the principal fortified wines of the world. The exam is 90 minutes and consists of an assessment of 3 wines tasted blind, and multiple-part open response theory questions.

The course fee includes four class sessions, practice exam and debrief, wine samples, and the Unit D4 Examination at Capital Wine School.

Wine samples will be available for pickup curbside by appointment at the Capital Wine School on September 21 between 12:00pm – 5:00pm.

Wine sample/study guide pickps: Please make a note of the wine sample pickup date mentioned above, as it will not appear on your registration confirmation. We cannot accommodate requests for wine sample pickups in advance of the date/times mentioned above. Students who are unable to come to the school to pick up their wine samples may have their materials shipped to them for an additional shipping fee – please email info@capitalwineschool.com for more information. Requests for shipping must be received no later than 7 days before the first scheduled class. Finally, wine samples for those who request and pay for shipping will ship to arrive the day of the first scheduled class, and we cannot accommodate requests for earlier arrival.
