In this course you will learn how grape growing, winemaking, maturation, wine law and wine business influence the style, quality and price of the principal wines of the world, and you will learn how to taste and evaluate wines from around the world. This course is for current WSET Diploma candidates only, and candidates should have taken Units D1, D2 and D4 (and/or D5) before attempting this course.

This course, which covers theory and tasting, will be taught on Cisco WebEx or Zoom on the following dates from 9:00am – 4:00pm each day:  January 15 & 16; February 5 & 6, February 26 & 27; March 19 & 20; April 9 & 10 (optional practice exam – dry tasting notes); April 23 & 24; April 30 & May 1.

The final exam on May 10 & 11 takes place over two days. Day #1(theory) is open-response/ essay questions given during two sessions taking 3 & ½ hours to complete. Day # 2 (tasting) consists of two 1 &1/2 hours sessions and is comprised of 12 wines tasted blind.

Wine samples will be available for curbside pickup at the Capital Wine School between 12pm – 5pm on the Friday prior to the each class weekend. Candidates who are unable to come to the school to pick up their wine samples may have their materials shipped to them for an additional shipping fee – please email info@capitalwineschool.com for more information.
