$375 – Class & Exam 

This half-day course is the ideal starting point for the novice sake enthusiast, or those working with sake.

No prior experience is required. Course includes the processes and principles involved in the production, storage, and service of sake, as well as tasting, a printed WSET Level 1 Sake workbook, and the exam (30 multiple choice questions in 45 minutes). Upon successful completion of the exam, students will be awarded the WSET Level 1 Award in Sake.

Caroline Hermann MW, WSET Certified Sake Educator (2018), Advanced Sake Professional (2020), Diploma in Sake from the Japan Sommelier Association (2020)

 

 
Schedule: 
9:00am to 12:00pm – Instruction (theory and sake tasting)
12:00pm – 12:45pm – Lunch on your own
12:45pm – 2:00pm – Review/exam prep
2:00pm – 2:45pm – Exam
Classroom time + exam:
5 3/4 hours of “guided learning hours” (includes 45 min exam)
30 multiple choice questions in 45 minutes
70% to pass (no merit or distinction awarded)
