About the Research Assignment

Each year on August 1, WSET releases two research assignment topics for the upcoming academic year (August 1 – July 31).

One topic is due in January.

Eligibility

Students must have sat for the D1 exam and completed D2 coursework before submitting the 3,000-word research paper.
- Enrollment in the WSET Diploma program is valid for three years. Candidates who have not passed all six units by the end of their three-year term must re-register for another three-year term in order to continue. If you are unsure when your term expires, please email info@capitalwineschool.com before registering.
Assignment Delivery

Approximately 30 days before the due date, Capital Wine School staff will email registered candidates with instructions for delivering their assignments.

Submission requirements:

WSET requires an electronic PDF copy.

Capital Wine School requires a printed copy from each candidate.

Virtual Seminar
-
A virtual seminar will be held on Zoom on Monday, December 22 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM.

A recording will be made available to those unable to attend live.
Rescheduling for a Future Topic

Students who register but decide not to submit their assignment may request to defer to future topic.

Requests for rescheduling must be received by the registration deadline noted at the top of the page in order to avoid a new exam fee.
