It is recommended that students complete the Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits before progressing to the Level 3 Award. This qualification is a prerequisite for candidates planning to study for the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines qualification. A student must pass the WSET Level 3 exam before registering for the Diploma program.

Additional Information
Study Materials: Students will receive their study pack (textbook and workbook) during the first class.
Rescheduling of exams: Students who are unable to attend the scheduled exam may request to defer to one of our other scheduled exams. Please review the following document for deadlines and fees associated with reschedule requests. Students will also receive an email reminder approximately one week before the rescheduling deadline: WSET Exams Rescheduling Deadlines & Fees
Absences: In the event a student is unable to attend a particular class session in person, the Capital Wine School may, at its discretion, offer to provide a Zoom link so the student can attend virtually, and to record the session and make the recording available to the absent student(s) for up to one week after the scheduled class. While we have been able to successfully record these sessions for the vast majority of our classes, occasionally a technical glitch or human error will result in a failure to record some or all of a class. The Capital Wine School will not offer refunds or other concessions for classes that a student is unable to attend in person, and for which a recorded session is unavailable due to an unexpected error. Additionally, we do not offer wine samples “to go” for our in person classes; if a student is unable to attend a particular class session in person, they will forgo the wine tasting for that particular session. It is for this reason that we strongly encourage students to try to attend the class session(s) as scheduled whenever possible.
We recommend reviewing the specification for the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines prior to your course; you may click here to download a PDF of the WSET Level 3 Wine specification.
