Unit D5: Fortified Wines (5 weeks of guided study) – $700
Understand how the growing environment, viticulture and winemaking options, industry associations, labelling terms and wine business influence the style, quality and price of the principal fortified wines. This includes describing, comparing and explaining how these factors influence the style, quality and price of these wine styles
Includes online tuition and study materials, feedback theory & tasting tests, tasting tutorial at the Capital Wine School on December 14, 2019* and the exam at the Capital Wine School on January 22, 2020. The exam is 90 minutes and consists of an assessment of 3 wines tasted blind, and multiple-part open response theory questions.
*Please note that the tasting tutorial on December 14 is contingent upon a minimum number of student registrations for this course, and that students may be asked to attend part or all (depending on what works best for them) of the day-long Unit D5 Intensive Course on January 4, 2020 in lieu of the currently-scheduled tasting tutorial if we do not arrive at the minimum number of registrations.
