4-week course plus exam, $799


This 4-week course will be held at Capital Wine School on September 5, 12, 19 & 26, with the exam on October 28 at 1:30pm.

This course covers tasting technique, traditional-method sparkling wine, Champagne, and non-traditional-method sparkling wine. Students will gain an understanding of how grape growing, winemaking, maturation, wine law and wine business influences the style, quality and price of the principal sparkling wines of the world. The exam is 90 minutes and consists of an assessment of 3 wines tasted blind and multiple-part open response theory questions.

The course fee includes the four week course, and the Unit D4 Examination at Capital Wine School.

Registration deadline for students wishing to take the exam on October 28 is August 19, 2019, and there are no refunds or rescheduling after this date.
Students who take the October 28 exam and do not pass will not be eligible to re-sit the exam in January 2020 due to the timing of the results issuance; the first opportunity to re-sit will be June 2020.
