Unit D3: Wines of the World

In this course you will learn how grape growing, winemaking, maturation, wine law and wine business influence the style, quality and price of the principal wines of the world, and you will learn how to taste and evaluate wines from around the world.
This course, which covers theory and tasting, will be held on the following dates: January 18 & 19; February 8 & 9; February 29 & March 1; March 28 & 29; and April 25 & 26. Classes are from 9am – 5pm each day.
The course price includes the exam on May 13 & 14. The exam takes place over two days. Day #1(theory) is open-response/ essay questions given during two sessions taking 3 & ½ hours to complete. Day # 2 (tasting) consists of two 1 &1/2 hours sessions and is comprised of 12 wines tasted blind.
Theory Exam begins at 11:00am on May 13, check-in begins at 10:30am
Tasting Exam begins at 10:30am on May 14, check-in begins at 10:00am
***Registration deadline for candidates who wish to take the exam on May 13 & 14 is March 6, 2020.
