WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines: Unit D5 Fortified Wine Online & Live (wine samples included)

This 4- week course will be taught by Master of Wine Caroline Hermann via Zoom on April 21, 28, May 5 , 12 from 6:30pm – 9:30pm with the exam on June 8, 2021 at 3:30pm. The exam is included in the registration fee.

This course covers tasting technique, Port, Sherry, Madeira, fortified Grenache and Muscat, and other fortified wines of the world. Students will gain an understanding of how grape growing, winemaking, maturation, wine law and wine business influences the style, quality and price of the principal fortified wines of the world. The exam is 90 minutes and consists of an assessment of 3 wines tasted blind, and multiple-part open response theory questions.

The course fee includes the 4-week course, wine samples and the Unit D5 Examination at Capital Wine School.

Wine samples will be available for pickup curbside by appointment at the Capital Wine School on April 20 between 12pm – 5pm.

Wine sample/study guide pickps: Please make a note of the wine sample pickup date mentioned above, as it will not appear on your registration confirmation. We cannot accommodate requests for wine sample pickups in advance of the date/times mentioned above. Students who are unable to come to the school to pick up their wine samples may have their materials shipped to them for an additional shipping fee – please email info@capitalwineschool.com for more information. Requests for shipping must be received no later than 7 days before the first scheduled class. Finally, wine samples for those who request and pay for shipping will ship to arrive the day of the first scheduled class, and we cannot accommodate requests for earlier arrival.

Invitation to join course: Cisco Webex or Zoom invitations will be emailed the day before or the morning of the first class.

***Students who wish to take the exam on June 8 will need to register for this course on or before April 4, 2021. Student who register on or after April 5 will be automatically registered to take the exam in October 2021 during the next scheduled WSET Diploma exams.
