Exam Only (January 21 & 22): $695 for both sections; $495 for tasting only, $275 for theory only

NOTE:  You must have taken the WSET Level 4 Diploma Unit D1 (formerly Unit #2) exam before registering for this, or any other, Diploma unit. If you previously sat and failed both portions of the Unit 3 exam, you must retake *both* sections during the same examination period.

This exam is intended for re-sits and deferrals only. In order to register for this exam, students must have taken a course for this unit with the Capital Wine School or with another WSET approved program provider.

For students who are registered for the Diploma program through an APP other than the Capital Wine School: We will require an email from the APP with whom you took your coursework, confirming that you completed your coursework, no later than 7 days before the registration deadline for this exam. This email should be sent to info@capitalwineschool.com. Registrations for which we have not received an email within 7 days of the registration deadline will be canceled and refunded minus payment processing fees.


Unit D3 (formerly Unit #3) covers the “Wines of the world”.

The Unit D3 exam has two parts: theory and tasting. In the tasting exam you will taste and assess 12 wines. The theory exam comprised of 5 essay questions related to material covered in the Unit D3 study curriculum.

The Theory exam will be held on January 21, 2021 and the Tasting exam will be held on January 22, 2021.
