Capital Wine School is excited to bring

the WSET Level 2 Certification Course to Loudoun County!

This 5-class course will be held at the Loudoun County Visitor Center  on the following dates: January 23, January 30, February 6, February 13, and February 20 with the exam on February 28.  Each class meets from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.  The exam also begins at 6:30 p.m.

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 certificate course provides an overview of the wines and spirits of the world. The class covers the major wine producing regions of the world, major wine grapes, factors affecting quality and style, grape growing, and basic winemaking practices. The course emphasizes tasting assessment, and the skills required to describe the aromas and tastes of wine. During each class you will taste 8-9 wines.

The course consists of five classes and an exam on the sixth week. The class fee includes: WSET course book, study guide, guide to the systematic approach to tasting wine, five class lectures, PDF copies of the class lectures, practice quizzes, 40 different wines, and the final exam. The exam takes 1 hour and consists of 50 multiple choice questions. Upon passing the exam you will receive the WSET Level 2 certificate, an internationally recognized credential in the wine industry.

Note: This is a structured educational class with seated tastings and classroom style lectures.
