This 6-class course will be held at Capital Wine School on the following dates: February 26, March 5, March 12, March 19, March 26, and April 2 with exam on April 9.
The Italian Wine Scholar Program covers Italian wine law, grape varieties and their organoleptic profiles, viticulture, winemaking, wine industry trends and economics and all DOCs and DOCGs with their regulations, wine styles and specificities. This core body of knowledge is important whether you sell wine, buy wine or teach about wine.
In addition to the classroom instruction, which includes tasting of over 37 different wines, this course includes the following:
- – The 316-page full-color Unit Two Italian Wine Scholar study manual
- – 1-year access to the Unit Two Italian Wine Scholar online study program for class prep and review
- – Registration for the Unit Two Italian Wine Scholar Exam, which is composed of 100 multiple-choice questions
The Unit Two Italian Wine Scholar online study program includes multimedia E-learning modules and online self-evaluation quizzes for each region, instructor Q&A forum for personal assistance as well as downloadable maps.
The Italian Wine Scholar (IWS) credential will be conferred to those individuals who achieve a composite score of 75 or higher. Students with a composite score of 85-90 pass with HONORS. Candidates scoring 91-100 pass with HIGHEST HONORS.
