Wine lovers enjoy arguing about “best of all time” or “BOAT” issues almost as much as sports fans do, but the decade culminating with the 2016 Barolo and Barbaresco releases is indisputably the best in history. However, we’ll still have plenty to discuss during this survey of exemplary wines from this period, including the factors that explain its greatness (such as technical advancements, retreat from high percentages of new French barriques, and climate change), as well as the relative merits of the different vintages, which are marked by significant stylistic variation.  All the best years within this winning streak will be represented by at least one wine, with each of the 12 wines selected to show the particular characteristics of its vintage in the best possible light.  The class will include several rare magnums flown back with me from my annual tasting in the region.

Wine samples available for pickup by appointment on Friday, November 20 between 12pm – 5pm.

**Important: If you are registering for more than one person, please be sure to include the other participants’ email address(es) when registering if they will be viewing the class from a different location/device.

**If this event is sold out please email michael@franzwine.com to be added to the waitlist.
